SCHOOL VISITS, LIBRARIES AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Come along and capture the fun as local author Michelle Zimmerman reads her children's book "Can't Catch a Butterfly".  The butterfly blast continues as she engages youngsters with interactive butterfly games, an indoor/outdoor butterfly hunt, songs, a craft, and more! Autographed copy of Michelle's book optional.

Fall/Winter Programming (Where Have All...The Butterflies Gone?), Spring Programming (Where Are the Butterflies?), and Summer Programming features a fascinating 5 minute video-clip from Michelle's trip to Central Mexico showing butterfly migration.  THOUSANDS OF BUTTERFLIES IN THE SKY!!  Program appropriate for preschool and kindergarten.  Presentation can be adapted for all grade levels. This 200 word picture book is loaded with fun repetition and rhyme offering a wonderful opportunity for older students to participate in a "Can't Catch..." book-making workshop or Reader's Theatre complete with scripts/props.  Michelle is registered with the Nassau and Suffolk BOCES Arts-In-Education Program.
