Spend a few hours outside and spread your wings at the Town of Brookhaven's Historical Longwood Estate. Their annual Butterfly Day event is appropriate for children ages 2-8. Children will participate in butterfly crafts, games and activities. Michelle will be leading a special storytime during the program. Her books will be available for purchase and signing. Conclude your visit with a tour of the Smith House circa 1790, barn, cemetary, and schoolhouse. Don't forget to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds. Michelle will be joining this special Autism Conference for parents, grandparents, professionals and clergy. She will be exhibiting and selling copies of her book, "Can't Catch a Butterfly". Her story was inspired by her work with children with autism. She will be available to discuss ways to encourage language development for this special population of children. Autism Awareness Day's mission is to help raise the awareness of autism. A panel of experts will be speaking throughout the event.
